How to make waffles

Waffles are a perfect breakfast, lunch, or dinner food. They are hearty so that you can fill them with meat and potatoes for dinner, but they are light enough to eat as a dessert. The most difficult part of waffles is the batter. It may be difficult to make something that requires an electric mixer or blender, but if you have a whisk and bowl available, you can whip up your batch of batter in 5 minutes. Here are ways to make waffles.

1. Prepare the batter.

You can make your batter with self-rising flour or a cake mix. If you are making waffles, a mixture is better because it is easier to control the ingredients and you can store the batter in a large container. The cake mix can be purchased at your local grocery store. Find one with real buttermilk and baking powder instead of cornstarch and baking soda because it will work better.

2. Cook your batter.

For each cup of batter, you need to use 2/3 cup of flour and ½ teaspoon of baking powder. Mix the ingredients in a large bowl and sift the flour before adding it to the batter. Mix your ingredients. These are unbleached white flour, cake flour, one cup of buttermilk, two eggs, or two teaspoons of melted butter.

3. Add your ingredients to the bowl and mix them well with a whisk or a fork.

Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix well. Add the buttermilk and cake mix to your food processor. Mix these into your dry ingredients so that you have a thick batter that is lump-free but not completely smooth and creamy anymore, leaving it chunky yet uniform in texture.

4. Portion the batter into two or three small bowls.

A standard waffle recipe is for 2 to 3 cups, but you can make as many as you like and have as many waffles as you want. Make your waffles. Pour the batter into a well-oiled iron waffle maker and cook as the manufacturer directs. Depending on the density of your batter, you may need to wait between 3 and 5 minutes for each waffle. If you want a thin, crispy waffle, put it in the maker when the red light is on. However, if you wish to have less dough for the same size of waffles, then go ahead and eat them immediately after pouring them into the iron.
