Young journalists for Life Medwolf

making reportages about coexistence between men and wolves

During the educational tour, made thanks to the involvement of the Institute of Applied Ecology, Tuscany Region, Journalists Association, Il Tirreno, La Nazione and Il Giunco, the students of the 3B class of the Agricultural Technical Institute of Grosseto and class 1C of Grosseto Scientific High School, will learn how to write a report to tell the events that characterize living with the wolf: troubles, predation, conflicts and feasible solutions. Next Wednesday the students will visit the Zambernardi farm, at Grancia locality, near Grosseto, which has adopted prevention methods. Together with journalists from the Maremma area, students will conduct interviews, in order to understand what are the challenges of coexistence between livestock and wolves. Thanks to the support of the experts, the material collected by the students will be processed in an actual news report. The goal of the project is twofold: to provide students some tools to increase their critical thinking, enabling them to navigate between the contradictory messages that are delivered on wolves, and to properly disclose some important issues including those dealing with management issues related to the wolf.
